How we compare prices (Methodology)
  • Data sources: We fetch live pricing from participating dealer product pages and/or APIs.
  • Refresh cadence: Prices and spot updates sync on a schedule (typically every hour). Each page shows a timestamp when the prices were last refreshed.
  • Payment normalization: Rankings default to bank/ACH pricing. Where dealers publish multiple payment prices, you should verify the price on the dealer website based on the selected payment method.
  • All-in price: Due to differences in sales tax, shipping costs and payment method adjustment, we show item price and note what’s included.
  • Premium over spot: Premium = The amount charged by the dealer, minus the current spot per unit for this specific product.
  • Stock handling: Typically, we only show prices if the dealer has the item available for sale on their website. Pre-Orders are typically labeled. Sometimes, dealers will list items as in-stock and available for sale when they are on backorder; out-of-stock offers are de-prioritized or hidden.
  • Independence & disclosure: Dealers cannot pay to change rankings. Some outbound links are affiliate/sponsored; they’re marked and use rel="sponsored". This does not affect how prices are displayed.
  • Corrections: See something off? Contact us and we will do our best to fix the issue quickly.

Expert Notes

The American Palladium Eagle is popular among both collectors and investors. Its unique design, high purity, and limited mintage contribute to its desirability.

Palladium is a precious metal with various industrial uses, and the demand for palladium has grown over the years due to its applications in technology, automotive catalytic converters, and other industries.

  • Minted from one troy ounce of .9995 pure palladium.
  • Produced by the US Mint.

  • Chosen from a random mix of years based on available dealer inventory.

1 oz American Palladium Eagle Coin

In 2017, the US Mint established the annual release of the Palladium Eagle 1 oz coin for investors.

Some years have also included the production of proof and reverse proof Palladium Eagle coins.

The obverse is inspired by the Mercury Dime and the portrayal of Lady Liberty as the "Winged Liberty" on this coin is reminiscent of ancient Roman and Greek Goddess.

Inscriptions are also included for the year and the mottos that appears on all legal tender.

The reverse of this coin portrays a determined and stoked eagle pulling a branch from a rock with his beak. Includes an indication of the metal, purity and face value.

Tubes that contain ten coins each are available from the mint.

Annual mintage amounts of Palladium Eagles are very low for bullion coins. Since the debut, only 78,771 coins have been minted. Buying random year palladium eagles will have the lowest premiums given the rarity of coins in some mintage years.
