1 How We Source Dealer Prices

Prices shown on FindBullionPrices.com are fetched directly from participating dealer websites and/or their published APIs. We do not manually enter or estimate prices — every figure shown is sourced from the dealer's own live product listing.

Dealers are added to the platform through a formal onboarding process. Inclusion on the site does not guarantee a dealer's products will appear on every comparison page — only products we can reliably track with a stable data source are listed.

2 How Often Prices Are Updated

Dealer prices and spot price references are synced on a regular automated schedule, typically every hour. Each comparison page displays a timestamp indicating when prices were last refreshed, so you always know how current the data is.

Because precious metals prices can move quickly relative to spot, we recommend verifying the final price directly on the dealer's website before completing a purchase. The timestamp on each page is the most reliable indicator of data freshness.

3 Spot Price Reference

FindBullionPrices.com does not set or publish official spot prices. We reference widely used market price benchmarks that reflect global wholesale precious metals trading activity across major financial markets, including over-the-counter bullion markets and futures exchanges.

Spot prices are sourced from financial data feeds and updated in sync with our dealer price refresh cycle. These benchmark references are used as the baseline for all premium calculations across the platform.

4 How We Calculate Premium Over Spot

The premium is the core metric on FindBullionPrices.com. It answers the question every bullion buyer actually wants answered: how much above raw metal value am I paying?

Premium Formula Premium = Dealer's listed price − Current spot value for the metal content of that product

Premium % = (Premium ÷ Spot value) × 100
Example A 1 oz American Silver Eagle is listed at $34.50. Silver spot is $30.00/oz.
Premium = $34.50 − $30.00 = $4.50 over spot (15%)

Premium calculations use the actual fine metal content of each specific product, not a generic per-ounce figure. A coin containing 0.9675 oz of gold will have its premium calculated against 0.9675 × gold spot — not the full ounce price. This ensures comparisons are accurate across products with different weights and finenesses.

Premiums are calculated using bank/ACH pricing by default, which typically represents the lowest available retail price from a given dealer. See the Payment Methods section below for more detail.

5 Payment Methods & Price Normalization

Many bullion dealers publish different prices depending on how you pay. Credit card purchases typically carry a surcharge of 3–4%, while bank wire or ACH transfers are usually priced at the lowest available rate.

By default, FindBullionPrices.com displays bank/ACH pricing for all dealers. This gives the most accurate apples-to-apples comparison across the site and shows the true floor price available from each dealer.

Important If you intend to pay by credit card or another method, the final price will differ from what is shown. Always verify the price on the dealer's website based on your selected payment method before purchasing.

6 What's Included in the Price

FindBullionPrices.com displays the item price as listed by the dealer. We note what is and isn't included in the displayed figure, but we do not show a fully all-in price for the following reasons:

Sales tax varies by state and by dealer depending on their nexus obligations. Some dealers collect sales tax in certain states; others do not. This cannot be standardized across a national comparison.

Shipping costs vary by order size, weight, destination, and dealer policy. Many dealers offer free shipping above a threshold — commonly $99–$199 — while others charge flat or variable rates.

Because of these variables, the price shown is the item price. Use it to accurately compare dealer premiums, then factor in your local tax situation and shipping costs when making your final purchasing decision.

7 Stock & Availability

We only display prices for products that appear to be actively available for sale on the dealer's website. Out-of-stock offers are de-prioritized or hidden from comparison results so that buyers see actionable offers first.

Products listed as pre-orders are typically labeled as such so buyers understand the item is not available for immediate shipment.

We do our best to reflect real-time availability, but dealers occasionally list items as in-stock when they are on backorder — particularly during periods of elevated market activity. Stock status should always be confirmed directly on the dealer's website before purchase.

8 Our Independence Policy

Dealer rankings on FindBullionPrices.com are determined by price — specifically, premium over spot — not by commercial relationships. Dealers cannot pay to improve their position in comparison results.

Some outbound links on the site are affiliate or sponsored links. These are clearly marked and use rel="sponsored" in accordance with established link attribute guidelines. Affiliate relationships do not influence how prices are displayed, how dealers are ranked, or which products appear in comparison results.

FindBullionPrices.com earns revenue through dealer listing subscriptions, display advertising, and affiliate commissions. None of these arrangements affect the integrity of the price data or rankings shown on the site.

9 Corrections & Feedback

We work hard to keep data accurate, but errors can occur — a dealer may update their pricing structure, change a product URL, or list an item in a way that causes a mismatch in our data feed.

If you spot a price that looks wrong, a dealer that appears to be missing, or any other data issue, please contact us and we will investigate and correct it as quickly as possible.
