Buying Gold & Silver at Coin Shows
For precious-metals buyers, Colorado coin shows provide an opportunity to compare dealer inventory and premiums in person. Dealers commonly offer:

October 2026
October 8–10, 2026 – Denver Coin Expo, National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt Street, Denver, CO 80216. Thu and Fri 10–6, Sat 10–4. Admission is $8 for a day pass or $12 for a three-day pass, with free admission for children 12 and younger. Parking is free. ANACS is scheduled to accept submissions on site.
Looking ahead: the next Denver Coin Expo is scheduled for April 29 – May 1, 2027 at the National Western Complex in Denver.
Notable Colorado Coin Shows to Watch
Denver Coin Expo
The Denver Coin Expo runs at the National Western Complex and is the larger of the two Colorado shows remaining in 2026. The fall event runs October 8–10, with public hours of 10–6 Thursday and Friday and 10–4 Saturday. The organizer lists coin dealers, grading services, club participation, and free parking.
Rocky Mountain Expos has already announced its spring 2027 edition for April 29 through May 1 at the same venue. That provides Colorado collectors with a confirmed date to plan around after the October show.
Front Range Coin Club Coins & Collectibles Show
The Front Range Coin Club hosts spring and fall shows at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. The fall 2026 edition runs September 19–20 in Building A, with Saturday hours of 9–5 and Sunday hours of 9–3.
The Longmont show provides a regional alternative to Denver and is particularly convenient for collectors from Boulder County, northern Denver suburbs, Loveland, and Fort Collins.
Colorado Money Show
The Denver Coin Club’s Colorado Money Show in Golden remains an important part of the annual state calendar, although its August 14–15, 2026 event has already passed. The show was held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds with approximately 100 tables and free general admission and parking.
Future dates should be confirmed through the Denver Coin Club or current show listings before making travel plans.
Colorado Springs Coin Show
The Colorado Springs Coin Club’s annual show took place June 26–27, 2026 at Elks Lodge 309.
The Colorado Springs club remains an important resource for collectors south of Denver and helps give the state a broader geographic footprint beyond the Denver metro.

Colorado Sales Tax and Bullion
Colorado’s bullion tax rules have changed recently. For the remainder of 2026, qualifying coins and precious-metal bullion are exempt from Colorado state sales and use tax and from sales taxes administered by the state on behalf of participating local jurisdictions. The Colorado Department of Revenue does not impose a $500 minimum purchase threshold for this exemption.
The exemption does not necessarily apply to sales taxes imposed independently by home-rule cities, so buyers should check the tax treatment at the location where a transaction takes place. Paper currency, tokens, jewelry, and some other numismatic or collectible items also fall outside the state’s bullion-and-coin exemption.
There is also an important change coming. House Bill 26-1289 was signed into law on June 3, 2026. The legislation repeals Colorado’s state sales and use tax exemption for qualifying coins and precious-metal bullion effective January 1, 2027. Buyers comparing purchases across the end of the year should account for that change.

- Verify the date, hours, and venue before leaving. Public calendars update, but last-minute changes still happen.
- Bring a want list so you stay focused.
- Compare dealer premiums if you are shopping for gold or silver bullion.
- Carry cash, but also ask which dealers accept cards or checks for larger purchases.
- For better-quality coins, know the difference between raw and certified material.
- For bullion buyers, check the live spot price before walking in so you have a current benchmark.
Colorado has a short remaining 2026 calendar, but the September Longmont show and October Denver Coin Expo give Front Range collectors two opportunities to compare dealer inventory before year-end.
